He’s breaking down her resistance one sexy moment at a time…
Director Trevor Maguire is determined to protect a secret that could destroy his family. The only person he trusts to help him is his sexy helicopter pilot, Samantha Bennett. She’s got troubles of her own and desperately needs cash so her company won’t go belly up. Trevor saves her business so he can use her company to do research for a movie while also conducting his investigation with her assistance.
Samantha’s got a non-fraternization rule in place for a reason. No way will she get involved with a client. Sure, she’s attracted to Trevor, but he’s only with her temporarily and she’s not into casual flings, even if the hottest man in Hollywood wants her. They try to resist each other, but they can’t deny the heat flaring between them and their sizzling chemistry spirals into an intense connection.
When Trevor unearths the truth about his past, he’s ready to move forward, but he’s got a difficult choice to make—will he go it alone or will he bring the woman he loves with him?

Samantha Bennett has just been refused a government grant for her company Skyline Air. Many veterans depend on Samantha, and when Trevor Maguire hires her to fly him incognito to Montana, they settle into a rather comfortable conversation, and Trevor has a perfect solution to save Samantha’s company. However, this entails for them to spend quite a bit of time together, and the way the sparks have been flying since the moment they met, it won’t be an easy task to remain professional.
If the premise of the book sounds good, the way it’s presented in the book is even better. I loved the role reversals: Samantha is ex-military and a helicopter pilot, and Trevor is a movie star and director. Contrary to what often happens with these types of characters, Ms Glover writes them very convincingly, and I believed – and loved – Samantha right away. I also thought the role that Trevor was made to play to justify his presence on the premises was a great touch and led to a few amusing scenes. Everything felt real in RESISTING THE HEARTBREAKER: from the lush descriptions of Montana to Samantha’s work environment and her flying. Samantha is level-headed, not prone to impulsive decisions, and the one she makes compromises her working relationship with Trevor. Trevor has some investigating to do regarding a family matter, he needs to depend on Samantha, but he needs to be in control. And when the going gets tough, it’s not whom we think who pretty much falls apart.
I loved that Samantha was a subtle, but necessary stabilising force in Trevor’s life, but he is so stubborn! He is such a man! Although they are quite lengthy in relation to the number of pages in the book, the sex scenes are beautifully done, but I would have exchanged a few pages for more of the story per se because it was so very well done. RESISTING THE HEARTBREAKER is exciting from the beginning; the story is captivating, the characters unusual and sympathetic, especially a secondary character: Quentin, Trevor’s father. While this book is a standalone, readers familiar with the Hollywood Heartbreakers series will be thrilled to reconnect with characters from the previous instalments, which is fun as the stories run concurrently while they can easily be read independently from each other.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
