Hi, everyone! I’m so glad to be here at Buried Under Romance to talk to you about the Castle Keyvnor anthology series of Regency novellas. Last year, we released four books in the series, each with three novellas: MYSTIFIED (featuring my novella The Mad Countess), VEXED, BEDEVILED, and SPELLBOUND (which is free now until the 10th, so download now before it goes back to full price!). These books became known collectively as the “Haunting of Castle Keyvnor,” because they were set during Halloween. The entire Banfield family and its many branches (and some “party crashers,” like my hero Teddy Lockwood) came to Castle Keyvnor to attend the will reading of the Earl of Banfield. Along the way, they dealt with ghosts, witches, curses, even some Cornish pixies—and of course, they found their happily ever afters.
This year, we decided it would be fun to revisit Castle Keyvnor, which is located on the coast of Cornwall, England in the fictional town of Bocka Morrow. The second series is called “Christmas at Castle Keyvnor,” and it features a double wedding—with Deb Marlowe’s Gryffin Cardew and Tamsyn Hambly from Lady Tamsyn and the Pixie’s Curse (in BEDEVILED) and Claudia Dain’s Hal Mort and Morgan Hambly from Lady Ghost and Lord Death: A Love Story (in SPELLBOUND, now free until the 10th!) You’ll see many reoccurring characters from last year’s anthologies, and of course, twelve new heroes and heroines.
The four anthologies are: CHARMED AT CHRISTMAS, TEMPTED AT CHRISTMAS, KISSED AT CHRISTMAS, and ENCHANTED AT CHRISTMAS. Just like last year, you’re going to find that the characters and storylines interact, so you can follow characters throughout the anthologies. While I’m currently drafting my novella, The Daring Duchess, I can already tell you that it has some fun surprises and interlocking elements with the other books in the series. 😉
The Daring Duchess is available in CHARMED AT CHRISTMAS, and it will eventually slide into my Darkest Regency series when I release it independently. I’m so excited to get to share this novella with you, as I am having a lot of fun writing it! It is an enemies to lovers story, featuring Nicholas Harding, the Duke of Wycliffe, who has inherited an estate that neighbors Castle Keyvnor. He wants nothing to do with Tetbery Estate, with its vast beach, gloomy gardens, and Gothic exterior. Frankly, he finds the estate rather creepy.
My heroine, Miss Felicity Fields, was the ward of Nicholas’s aunt, the Countess of Tetbery. He used to spend summers as a child at the estate, and developed a rivalry with Felicity. When the Countess dies, Nicholas is now the closest thing to family Felicity has—despite the fact she finds him irritating, and he can’t understand her just-the-facts mind. Felicity is a scientist with a tendency to be blunt, and all she wants is to avoid society and spend the rest of her days at Tetbery. (I have based her a lot on Temperance Brennan from Bones, LOL!) But Nicholas is determined to introduce her into the ton and secure a suitable match for her…he just doesn’t suspect it will be him.
You can preorder each book in our new “Christmas at Castle Keyvnor” collection, and purchase our “The Haunting at Castle Keyvnor” collection today. Don’t forget that SPELLBOUND is free until the 10th of July! My novella from last year’s collection, The Mad Countess, is also available for $0.99 as the start of my Darkest Regency series.
