Reforming this bad boy makes her want to be very naughty…
PR expert extraordinaire Fiona Maguire must deal with her most challenging task yet: clean up NASCAR champion Jax Hannigan’s act by posing as his girlfriend. She’s determined to help him because she feels responsible for his best friend’s death after setting the wrong man free for all the right reasons. Truthfully, she’s always harbored a secret crush on Jax—one she should ignore now, but can’t when passion flares between them.
To secure a coveted sponsorship and prove he’s got what it takes to win to his slimy former team owner/stepfather, Jax needs to reform his bad boy image. He’s got the best in public relations backing him. The attraction sizzling between them is tempting, but she’s only available because he encouraged her fiancé to drive in a race that killed him.
Soon days of working together turn to passionate, steamy nights. But their feelings for each other could jeopardize his comeback, especially after another scandal erupts. Now Jax must choose the ultimate prize: a championship trophy… or the woman he loves.
He felt good, and oh so right as they moved in tandem to the song’s melody. And he smelled amazing—tantalizing her senses. Electricity crackled, sparked, then arced into every female part she possessed.
“I like it when you get bossy.” He turned her into him, holding her close. So close she could hear his answering, fast, hard pulse. “It’s hot.”
And so was he. Hot. Too sexy for his own good. And, for now, hers to claim. “I swear you must be like catnip for women. I can’t leave you alone for one minute and they’re swarming all over you.”
“What can I say? I’m a natural female magnet.”
No kidding. She sure as hell wasn’t immune to him, either. “Then I’d better make sure they get the message loud and clear,” she said, twining her arms around his neck and erasing the scant millimeters between their bodies. “You’re off limits.” Especially to her for the long term, but he was all hers for the short term.
Fiona told herself she was doing this for the sake of TW Racing, but she was lying to herself when she brought her mouth to his lips. She wanted to kiss him. And then she wanted to do a whole lot more . . . like getting him naked and kissing him all over until he moved inside her—fast, furious, and wild.

Jax Hannigan is a NASCAR champion who loves the thrill of the speed on the track. I love roller coasters for the same reason. Others enjoy zip lining. Scariest coaster I ever rode was the Griffin. Tell me about your most thrilling experience and one lucky commenter will get an E copy of my book SEDUCING THE HEARTBREAKER: Hollywood Heartbreakers Book 2.

Jax Hannigan woke up from an epic bender in a posh hotel room in Florence, Italy. A NASCAR driver, Jax recently had an accident, and his future in racing is bleak. This added to the death of his friend Stuart during a race does not help, nor does the fact that Jax’s own stepfather is bent on destroying him for personal reasons, putting the blame on Jax for Stuart’s crash. Jax is trying to get his bearings but the persistent knocking at his door won’t stop. Expecting hotel service, Jax is stunned to see his old high school friend Fiona Maguire. Fiona is a Hollywood PR specialist, her brother Trevor has a racing car, and Trevor knows that Jax could win the NASCAR 400 if only he would shape up. Fiona had a crush on Jax in high school, but he was too much of a player, so she settled for second best: their friend Stuart. Since Stuart’s death, Jax has been on a downward spiral, and Fiona knows she can help him, but Jax must obey all her rules.
I thought having a NASCAR driver as a romance hero was an interesting premise to what I expected to be a somewhat formulaic fake relationship trope, and I’m thrilled to say that I was so wrong! Christine Glover gave her characters such rich background stories, with rich personalities, that I was immersed in the story from the onset, especially because of Fiona who is the epitome of professionalism. For once, her being a PR rep was not just for show: I saw her work, how she negotiated for her client, still not giving in to her attraction to Jax, and he was not always easy to deal with. I also felt privy to a race car driver’s life; Ms. Glover’s wonderful descriptions perfectly conveyed the racing world, and of Italian opulence, among other places. Jax and Fiona have such different families, that only this made for captivating reading!
I loved how the fake relationship progressed to a real one, and it definitely did not happen in the blink of an eye. SEDUCING THE HEARTBREAKER is a fabulous departure from this all too familiar trope; I felt at all times that this story could be real, that Jax and Fiona were real people. There is what I could call the moment of revelation that was exceptionally well written: no over the top drama, but honesty and realistic heart-to-heart talk between people who had been friends, but had issues that needed to be dealt with. Fiona and Jax’s passion is so beautifully worded, their renewed connection so carefully crafted, I could feel the intensity of their relationship evolving organically. Jax is a very good man underneath his seductive playboy exterior, and I liked that a lot. The events that led to Stuart’s death and Jax’s crash are riveting and intrinsically linked to the romance.
SEDUCING THE HEARTBREAKER is an intelligent book, with intensely sensual sex scenes, and fully fleshed-out, realistic, and very engaging characters. Ms. Glover’s prose is impeccable, and with this book, the author’s tremendous writing skills shine as she makes a familiar trope seem brand new. SEDUCING THE HEARTBREAKER is a fine, fine book!
