There are bad boys and then there are the men of Devil’s Rock….
Some men come with a built-in warning label. Knox Callaghan is one of them. Danger radiates from every lean, muscled inch of him, and his deep blue eyes seem to see right through to Briar Davis’s most secret fantasies. But there’s one major problem: Briar is a nurse volunteering at the local prison, and Knox is an inmate who should be off-limits in every way.
Knox feels it too—a shocking animal magnetism that drives him to risk his own life to protect Briar’s. Paroled at last, he tries to resist her. She’s too innocent, too sweet, and she has no idea what Knox is capable of. But a single touch can lead to a kiss—and a taste…until the only crime is denying what feels so right…

Sophie Jordan completely blew me away with ALL CHAINED UP! Ms. Jordan is one of my favourite authors, and ALL CHAINED UP is as far from her delicate historical fiction as it can get, and at least as fabulous! Briar Davis, in hope of advancing her nursing career accompanies her boss, who is filling in for the recently retired doctor who takes care of the prisoners at Devil’s Rock penitentiary. One particular inmate, Knox Callaghan, makes a lasting impression on Briar in more ways than one: he seems extremely dangerous, and yet she finds herself inexplicably drawn to him. And Knox cannot deny the attraction he feels for the pretty nurse. He has been in prison for eight years, along with his brother North, and when an unfortunate incident happens at the prison, he demonstrates what sort of man he is.
This is Sophie Jordan at her very best, and showing a side we’ve never seen before. ALL CHAINED UP so exciting, I had to restrain myself in order not to fangirl all over the place while writing this review. From the very first words, I was completely immersed in the book, and feeling the rush of adrenaline as I read. I must say I’m a bit surprised at how well the romance worked out, given that the hero is a convict, but trust Sophie Jordan to make everything entirely plausible: there is not one little thing that is out of place, nothing is contrived or over the top. ALL CHAINED UP feels like the real deal, devoid of clichés and warmed-over drivel. The characters are especially well-drawn, the romance absolutely believable; I really cared for those characters, and not only Knox and Briar. The writing is perfectly suited to the style, the dialogues are spot-on, the story is superb, and the sex scenes are sizzling. ALL CHAINED UP and Devil’s Rock is as exciting as it gets! Sophie Jordan has given us another proof of her extraordinary versatility: ALL CHAINED UP is the first instalment in her new series Devil’s Rock, which has all the makings of a huge hit!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book.
