Eva Leigh’s deliciously sexy Wicked Quills of London series continues as a Lady’s secret career writing erotic fiction is jeopardized by real-life romance . . .
In society circles she’s known as the Watching Wallflower—shy, quiet, and certainly never scandalous. Yet beneath Lady Sarah Frampton’s demure façade hides the mind of The Lady of Dubious Quality, author of the most titillating erotic fiction the ton has ever seen. Sarah knows discovery would lead to her ruin, but marriage—to a vicar, no less—could help protect her from slander. An especially tempting option when the clergyman in question is the handsome, intriguing Jeremy Cleland.
Tasked with unmasking London’s most scandalous author by his powerful family, Jeremy has no idea that his beautiful, innocent bride is the very woman he seeks to destroy. His mission must remain a secret, even from the new wife who stirs his deepest longings. Yet when the truth comes to light, Sarah and Jeremy’s newfound love will be tested. Will Sarah’s secret identity tear them apart or will the temptations of his wallflower wife prove too wicked to resist?

Temptations of a Wallflower is the third book in the ‘The Wicked Quills of London’ series by Eva Leigh. The book can easily be read as a stand alone one although I highly recommend the first two books in the series as well purely because they are so good, regardless of which order you read them in.
This is the story of Lady Sarah Frampton. To society she is considered the watching wallflower because she is always on the sidelines, not involving herself, and she’s considered stand offish with men. Little do they know that inside shy Sarah Frampton is a woman who writes a very popular erotica series of books under the name the Lady of Dubious Quality. Nobody knows it’s her that is the real author.
Jeremy is the third son of an Earl. His eldest brother is learning to take on the role of Earl when the time comes. His second eldest brother is a banker, and he has been forced into the role of Vicar by his father. He doesn’t mind being a vicar, but it’s definitely not his choice of vocation. He is especially troubled to be a vicar when inside he is a man with an appetite for sex. He’s read all the books by the Lady of Dubious Quality, and at times has found himself pleasuring himself after reading them. Not what you expect from a vicar.
Jeremy’s father believes that the books are disgusting and go against everything that is moral and he tasks Jeremy with finding out who the author is. He wants to stop them writing, and in doing so, whatever scandal comes about, he wants them named and shamed. Personally, obviously, Jeremy doesn’t see anything wrong with the books, but he’s never been able to say no to his father so he heads to London to begin the search.
While there he is introduced to Sarah, he can’t understand how people think of her as a plain wallflower. He sees her beauty from the start and he is instantly attracted to her. She is also instantly attracted to him and the chemistry between them just oozes.
I don’t want to go into any more detail or I will be giving too many spoilers, but suffice to say that as the blurb of the book states, they get married. It’s such a wonderful love match, and of course with his lustful longings, and her being an erotica writer, things between the sheets scorch. Of course problems begin when Jeremy finally tells Sarah he is looking for the writer of the erotica books. What will happen if he finds out that it is his lovely wife. Will he report her to his father, and more importantly will it end their relationship? He has been so proud of their marriage and the fact that they could be so open with each other, how will he cope if he finds out that Sarah has lied from the start. How will Sarah cope knowing that he is a man determined to bring her down?
As I mentioned earlier, I have enjoyed all the books in this series, but this one definitely has to be my favourite. There’s something very naughty about vicars fighting their sensual sides, and then finally giving in to them. His relationship with Sarah was really wonderful to read, the love they have for each other is so beautiful, and when things start to go awry it brings a tear to the eye.
I loved this book, I loved the characters, and I love that we had a little update on the two other couples from the first two books in the series. Eva Leigh is definitely on my favourite author list now and I look forward to reading all future books that she releases.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book.
